Our sweet Subie needs to go on a diet. Bad. We haven't weighed him lately but it's obvious that he has put on a few pounds in the last few months. It's hard to cut back though, he acts like he's starving to death when we don't give him his usual amount. He even bats at my hand if he sees I didn't put all of the kibbles in the measuring cup into his bowl. He wants every last bit of it. And after his morning feeding he patiently waits for his morning treats. We make him wait until 7 but it's all he can do to hold out. He begs for them! Joe's been trying to get him to exercise more, they chase each other around the house, but apparently that's not enough! I guess I have another item to add to my New Years goals list.

our cats are definitely fat. At first I thought I was just imagining it-but then our friends all came over and every single one of them mentioned something about our fat cats. Rainier would lose his weight if we let him be an indoor/outdoor kitty-but statistics show that indoor kitties (even fat ones) live 1/3 longer than outdoor cats... so I guess I'm just stuck with fat cats

I hear ya on the fat cat issue. :S We have to feed one of our cats (the fattest) prescription food because he's allergic to chicken. We have been mixing it with a high fiber food. We're waiting for the slow weight loss process. He was 18 lbs last time we took him to the vet (the other two are 14 and 13 lbs). They all cry to eat at 5:30 in the morning. Just know, I'm there with ya! Let me know if you find an easier way!
