TGIF!!

I don't know if I've ever been so happy for Friday to be here! I know I've been working a lot, but I didn't realize until I got my paycheck that I worked 116 hours last pay period. That explains why I've been totally exhausted both emotionally and physically.

That said, I'm so excited for the weekend. And even more excited that the suns going to be making an appearance! I don't want to jinx it, but I even heard 76 on Sunday! I can't wait!

Joe's grandparents are coming down to Longview tomorrow. His grandma was a florist for years and years so she wants to do the flowers for our wedding. We're going to take her up to the golf course so she can see everything and where the reception will be held. It's hard to believe we'll be honeymooning 5 months from today! Speaking of which, we are still trying to figure out where to go. We were set on Maui at first but then we started thinking of other places, somewhere neither one of has ever been. We'd love to go Greece---on a cruise so we don't have the stress of the planning---just sit back and relax, but it takes so long to get there! I don't really want to spend that much time traveling. I'd love to hear from anyone who has been on a cruise. We're both indecisive about them. It sounds pretty fun until I start researching more and seeing more "candid" pictures from travelers. Maybe it's just the pictures I'm seeing, but all of the rooms on board look pretty ghetto and outdated. Is that how they are or am I just looking at old pictures? What if you don't want to go on an excursion? Would we have the option of just finding a beach and hanging out for the day? I have so many questions!

I decided to let people have the option of leaving comments on my blog again. When I first started I didn't want that option because I didn't want sympathy from anyone. Now that I'm through with all the cancer stuff, I decided I'd open it back up. So, if you've been on a cruise, I'd love to hear your about experience!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Go to Bali!!!! Everything's cheap once you get there and you guys can rent one of those huts on stilts-that're over the water. How cool would THAT be?! (oh and you should take me, I'm really fun on other people's honeymoons.hehe)

When we had our wedding, I also had an aunt who had been a florist for a long time. She really wanted to help with our flowers, so I ended up buying bundles of flowers from Safeway which she then put together for us.

Safeway was crazy cheap, and they had such a beautiful/random selection to choose from. I know you said that you wanted lots of unique flowers with greens. They got me spider mums and tulips out of season.

I just started stopping in every week and making notes on the different flowers they had that I liked. We ended up getting 4 huge tubs of bundles of flowers for like $125. And from that my aunt was able to make everything we needed.

Hey! It's April from LMU. I went on a cruise with Royal Caribbean last year, just a 3-day down to Ensenada and back. Ensenada was nothing to write home about, but the cruise was really enjoyable. The rooms where fine, not run down at all, and we had the cheapest ones. Which worked out great because the bf and I get motion sickness, and apparently if you're in the bottom of the boat without a window it's an easier ride.

There was TONS of stuff to do. My bf's fave part was the dodgeball competition - we even won bronze medals with the royal caribbean logo on it. The food was great (although on the last day of the cruise they made us do the macarena at dinner which was odd, but everyone was in a great mood so we all just went along with it). There's a fitness room to use for free, and a spa where you can buy massages and all that spa-type of stuff. There was a formal night where everyone was all dressed up. And a casino. And a piano bar. And a dance club. And a bar with a dance floor for more "grown-up" social dancing. And game competitions like charades. And programs to leave your kids in a great babysitting type option where they took the kids around to play together and explore the ships when the adults wanted to have some time alone. And bingo - I was one number away from winning the $6000 jackpot. And more stuff I'm not remembering right now. It was great.

We paid about as much as our tickets cost (maybe $300) on alcohol - in three days! Everything's on your room card, no cash or credit card so it's hard to budget... but who cares? (You can't bring your own alcohol on the ship).

I was worried about the atmosphere on the cruise because it was around spring break, on St. Paddy's weekend, and was really cheap. But everyone was really nice. Everyone from single moms with their kids, to older couples, to family reunions, to cheesy college guys, everyone was just happy-go-lucky and enjoyable. Which is good because you have to sit with other people at the formal dinners (round tables of 6-8 people I think).

I do know some friends who went on a 7-day cruise with a lesser-known cruiseline... well more of an unheard of cruiseline... and while it was really affordable it was not worth it. Not many cruise activities and the ones they had were really half-assed.

I say a cruise and do the mediterranian (spelling) The shore excursions are short but if you do want to go somewhere where tEnglish is not the language I definitely recommend a cruise for less stress reasons. I will email you pic of our room...

Katie, by the time my wedding was over and done with we were so ready to do nothing but chill out and NOT think. We opted out of a Thiland adventure trip at the last minute to go to Jamaica--an all inclusive resort. It was the smartest think we ever did and it was truly the most amzing vacation ever!! Email me if you want more info at the place we stayed. We are going back this october we had so much fun on our honeymoon. From the time you get off the plane you are pampered like you are the most wealthy people around. There is my 2 cents! Oh and do a red a flight...I normally can't sleep on flights but the day after the wedding I could have slept anywhere...good luck! - Erin L.
